THREE KEYS FOR MORE
PEACE OF MIND, FOCUS & IMPACT
Each training, workshop or coaching trajectory will have these three ingredients that are required to move from surviving to thriving. The short workshops will provide the "eye-openers", the intensive trainings or 1 on 1 coaching will provide powerfull breakthroughs and the strategies & tools to integrate your insights into your everyday life & career.

A deep understanding of how
your own mind creates much of the stress
you experience and how this
limits you in your PhD trajectory & life.

How to move
from judging to accepting
yourself, others and your situation, and how this shift
alleviates stress
and allows you to
focus on what really matters.

Combine your "new" mindset with proven tools & strategies to integrate your insights effectively in your career and life. Start thriving and enjoy the ride!
SURVIVING OR THRIVING
As a PhD candidate you are expected to perform at a high level at almost everything: From setting up & performing experiments and data analysis, working together with your (co-)promotor in a sometimes divers team of specialists, all the way to presenting at conferences, writing papers and guiding students.
Oh yeah, and then there is your private life too!
So let me ask you: How do you deal with all of these challenges?
How do you make sure you remain healthy (both physically and mentally), that you don't run into chronic stress, overwhelm, fatigue and in worst case, into a burnout.
So if that's covered, you're at least surviving.
But maybe there's more to this than just surviving.
What if there's an opportunity to not only stay out of a burnout, but to grow stronger, more resilient and happier, while performing even better than you do now?
In my 10+ years experience as a scientist (from PhD candidate to PostDoc to Project leader), and after transitioned into a coaching career in which I've coached hundreds of PhD candidates, I have seen many people making that shift.
They went from "barely surviving" to "surviving" to "thriving".
And this is something you can learn too!
But it does take real commitment. So if you're done with "avoiding", "resisting", "trying to get through the day", and you're committed to start to look in the mirror to see how you can take ownership over your own personal and profession growth, despite whatever is happening in your life, let's connect.
Write me an email and I'll get back to you soon with some options in how we might be able to work together.
Looking forward to meeting you!
ABOUT THE TRAINER:
In terms of PhD struggles, Wouter Leonhard is an expert by experience as he has completed his own PhD in biomedical sciences back in 2014 and worked as a PostDoc scientist for another 5 years.
Meanwhile, his interest in what limits people to reach their full potential led him to complete many trainings and courses in the area of coaching, psychology, and leadership development, and he became a full-time accredited coach in 2020 and has helped many scientists ever since.

What is the investment for 1 on 1 coaching?
If you're a PhD candidate, I offer 1 on 1 coaching at a minimum of 4 sessions. If the above is not possible and you do want to cover for the costs yourself I charge €125,- per online session (90 minutes), which is free of VAT. We can also meet f2f in Leiden, Rotterdam or The Hague at additional costs that include travel costs and rental costs (I usually rent a room at the "coachhuis", which can be accross the country).
What's the investment for workshops & group trainings?
If you're a groupleader or HR professional or anyone who likes to offer workshops and/or trainings for PhDs in your organisation, please send me an email with your whishes. Based on that we can have an online zoomcall to further discuss the options and based on that I'll make a quotation in which I'll also take into account any preparation costs, travel costs etc.
In general, I charge €700,- excl.VAT. per half-a-day (3-3,5 hours). And free of VAT in case the training is meant for PhD candidates.
For short workshops, I charge a minimum of €350,- excl.VAT.
